Joseph Danforth I

BiographyJoseph Danforth I was born 17 August 1758 in Middletown, Connecticut. He was the son of Thomas Danforth II (1731-1782) and Martha Jacobs Danforth, and the grandson of Thomas Danforth I (1703-1786). He worked with his father after completing his apprenticeship, and upon his father's death, he took over their business in Middletown. Joseph Danforth married Sarah King on 12 April 1781; they had at least one son, Joseph II (working 1803-1806 and later). Joseph Danforth died at age 30, on 17 December 1788.
