General Henry Champion

BiographyGeneral Henry Champion was born in Westchester, Connecticut, on 27 March 1751. He was the son of Colonel Henry Champion (1723-1797) and the brother of Deborah Champion Gilbert (1753-1845) and General Epaphroditus Champion (1756-1834). He served in the Revolutionary War, was a member of the Connecticut General Assembly, and was chairman of the committee of the legislature that arranged for holding the Hartford Convention in 1814. He died in Westchester on 13 July 1836.
