BiographySamuel Driggs was born in Middletown, Connecticut on 21 July 1763, the son of Joseph Driggs, Jr. and Rachael Johnson Driggs. He married Sarah Brown. He worked as a master mariner and his death is recorded in St. Matthew's Parish Register in Nassau, New Providence, West Indies. It states: "OCtober 19, 1814. Samuel Driggs, Master Mariner. A Native of Middletown, State of Connecticut, age abt. 51 years." The accesion card on the subject says "Member of a Middletown family, West Indian Planter."
