Ellen Waitstill Cheney

BiographyEllen "Nell" Waitstill Cheney was the eldest child of Knight Dexter Cheney (1837-1907) and Ednah Dow Smith (1841-1915).
She married Dr. Alexander Lambert (1861-1939) in 1895. They both went to France during World War I, where she served with the American Red Cross Women's War Relief Corps.
Ellen was a passenger involved in the Boston Express "Stamford Wreck," which took place on 12 June 1913. According to a Hartford Courant article published on 17 June 1913, she sustained minor injuries.
She died of a heart attack on 13 January 1938, at which time she and her husband were living in New York City.
