DescriptionNavy blue hat of synthetic straw, with a very low crown surrounded by a dark blue velvet ribbon, which is gathered in front under a single paste "diamond." In the back the ribbon is folded back into a loop and stitched under another paste diamond. (This stitching of this decorative treatment is currently undone.) Over the forepart of the brim falls a sheer blue net, which would have been tucked under the wearer's chin. The interior of the hat is unlined, but there is a dark blue grosgrain ribbon stitched around the inside of the brim.
