DescriptionThe buildings of the city of Hartford, including three prominent church steeples, line the far bank of the Connecticut River. Smoke issues from two factory chimneys at the right. A third chimney is at the left. A long, wooden, covered bridge crosses the river in the left background. Four small sailing vessels are on the river. A sloping bank is in the the left foreground. Reeds or grasses grow in the river. Bushes are on the bank, and large trees are at the far left.
