DescriptionPair of blown and cut colorless lead glass goblets. Each goblet has a 'U'-shaped bowl, a hexagonal panel-cut stem, and a round foot with a polished pontil mark on the bottom. The hexagonal sides of each stem are cut, and they extend up to form six flutes on the lower sides of the bowl. An elaborate, angular letter "B" is wheel engraved into the side of each goblet. There is a ring of light scratches and wear on the bottom edge of the foot of each goblet.
Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
