DescriptionBlown-three mold dark olive green glass inkwell consisting of a circular opening in the center of the flat top, curved shoulders, cylindrical sides, and a shallow kick and a rough pontil mark on the bottom. The inkwell was formed by blowing glass into a three-part mold with a raised geometric pattern. The pattern consists of raised vertical ribs at the shoulders, over a band of diamond diapering on the sides, above a narrow band of raised vertical ribs at the bottom of the sides. The top surface of the inkwell has a few light scratches. The bottom edge has a ring of light scratches and wear. There is also an area of dirt adhered to the bottom of the inkwell, near the edge.

Pontil mark: A rough place on a blown glass object where the solid metal rod, or pontil, is cracked off the object after final shaping and decoration. Pontil marks can be polished to achieve a smooth surface.
