DescriptionPieced quilt in a Lob Cabin pattern with a triangular pieced border. The quilt consists of a hand-stitched pieced top of plain-woven, printed cotton, or calico, batting, and a printed, plain-woven cotton backing; the three layers are joined with a hand-stitched quilting pattern of a large X through each block. Each pieced block consists of a red center square, surrounded by four concentric square borders in a variety of light and dark printed cottons. The blocks are arranged overall in a pattern of concentric diamonds alternating between light and dark color fabrics. The blocks are foundation-pieced and hand-stitched together. The backing is pieced and has a tiny pink floral printon a white background. All four edges of the quilt are machine-stitched and finished back to front.
Condition: The quilt has some slight spots and minor stains.
