DescriptionA large group of boys and young men are seated in vertical rows, apparently on bleachers, in front of a brick factory building. Some wear suits and neckties; some wear shirts, jackets, jerseys, or sweaters. Several wear eyeglasses. A few wear vests. Several wear or hold caps. A sign in the foreground reads: "JUNE - ROYAL FACTORY BOYS - 1923". Additional men are visible through the open windows of the factory in the background.
NotesHistorical Note: According to the donor, her father, Arthur Louis Hansen (1904-1993), worked for Royal Typewriter Company in Hartford, Connecticut, and in Florida. The donor identified Hansen as one of the boys in the left foreground; however, according to an inscription on the back of 2004.111.2, Hansen did not begin working for Royal Typewriter until 1929.
