DescriptionLarge, round, cream-colored earthenware tray, a type of ceramic known as creamware. The tray has a scalloped rim and a fluted well, creating twelve different panels in the rim. These panels contain pierced decorations, that alternate between two different patterns. The first pattern has a series of diamonds and pierced circles creating a heart shape. The second pattern has four hearts surrounding an abstract flower petal, also decorated with clusters of small, pierced circles.
Some of the clear glaze on the tray has worn or chipped off the inside and outside edges of the rim. There are scratches on the top of the tray, as well as on the bottom. Dirt has accumulated in the scratches on the bottom of the tray.
