DescriptionRound, buff-colored earthenware plate with a blue-tinted glaze, a type of ceramic known as pearlware. The underglaze cobalt blue transfer-printed pattern on the plate may be from Enoch Wood's "Sporting" series. The pattern shows a man in a hat on the left standing in a field, pointing a gun at a fox that runs to the right after a rabbit. There is a fence in the background and a tree in the right middle distance. There is a dead, white bird on the ground to the left of the scene. A wide border surrounding the pattern consists of large flowers within scrolls on a field of blue. There is light crazing all over the surface of the plate.
