DescriptionRound buff-colored earthenware plate with a blue-tinted glaze, a type of ceramic known as pearlware. The underglaze cobalt blue transfer-printed decoration on the plate is from Enoch Wood's "Sporting" series. The plate shows a dog running through a marsh after two birds flying through the air. One of the birds appears to have been recently shot, and it is falling from the air. A wide border surrounding the pattern consists of large flowers within scrolls on a field of blue. There is light crazing all over the surface of the plate.
