DescriptionSketchbook contains sketches, including scenes in Minnesota, many with lakes and sheep. Several studies depict a balsam fir tree. Two drawings appear to depict a funeral, with a woman standing beside a casket. One sketch shows two women entering a trolley car. Another shows several different boats, identified as "Adirondac [sic] boats."
NotesArtist Note: The initials "E. M. Moore" on the front cover stand for "Ellen Mindwell Moore," Nelson Augustus Moore's daughter. However, one of the drawings and the account of the meeting with a mason in Waterbury are both signed by N.A. Moore, and all of the drawings in the sketchbook appear to be by him. (Finlay 8/25/2004)
