DescriptionRound, Chinese hard paste porcelain plate with hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The underglaze decoration, found on the center of the plate, shows two dragons facing each other. They are surrounded by vines and flowers which curve around the plate. The dragons and flowers are surrounded by a border at the rim, consisting of floral motifs with scrolls of thick and thin blue lines between. Imperfections in the porcelain appear as black dots on the surface of the plate. A hairline crack runs through the tails of both dragons, and there are three small chips at the rim of the plate.
