DescriptionFour men or boys and three women or girls are in a rowboat near the edge of a pond. The men, in the bow of the boat, hold long oars with which they are rowing or poling. They wear trousers, sailor style shirts, and broad-brimmed straw hats. The women, in the stern, wear skirts and blouses or dresses. Two women appear to wear shawls. One woman holds a lapful of flowers and leaves. Five waterlilies are in the water in the right foreground. Flowers, possibly peonies, are on the shore in the left foreground. Large trees are in the right background, and smaller trees are in the left background.
