DescriptionTwo young men and two young women are assembled outdoors in a garden. The men wear coats, vests, and tight-fitting trousers or breeches. The women wear dresses trimmed with lace and flowers, probably artificial flowers. They wear jewelry, including necklaces and bracelets. The man on the left is playing a flute. The woman on the right is playing a guitar. Her foot rests on an upholstered footstool. The other man and woman hold music books. An ornamental urn is on a stone wall in the left background. A fountain is in the right background surrounded by trees and bushes. Flowers probably include roses, in the left foreground, and hollyhocks, in the left background.
