DescriptionA woman stands at the left beside a marble monument with a high rectangular base surmounted by an urn or lamp. She wears a dress with a low neckline decorated with lace, and a shawl decorated with fringe. A rectangular brooch is pinned to the front of her dress. She covers her eyes with her left hand and rests her left elbow on the base of the monument. She holds a handkerchief in her right hand. Roses grow in the right foreground at the base of a weeping willow tree that arches over the monument. Additional roses grow behind the monument. A grassy lawn is in the left foreground. Additional gravestones and a Gothic church are in the right background. A second monument and a second willow tree are in the left background.
