DescriptionHead and shoulders portrait of Russell Cheney as an adult. He is wearing a white collared shirt and a thin, buttoned jacket under a suit jacket. He is also wearing a patterned tie. Russell has fine lines around his eyes. His hair is parted and combed to one side, and he has a deep widow's peak.

There are two copies of the photograph, housed inside of a pocket folder. The folder has an oval window mat on the right, where the photographs are stored, and a plain pocket on the other side. The photographs are placed in the mat upside down. The folder is stitched along the top and bottom edges.

Russell was the youngest child of Knight Dexter Cheney and Ednah Dow Smith. He had ten siblings.
