DescriptionWoman's brimless hat of brown velvet, made to fit closely against the head like a cloche, but not so deep as a typical cloche. The hat is decorated with eight layered brown feathers, edged with white on the proper right side. A brown velvet bow is stitched at the base of the feathers. The hat is lined with brown rayon. A dark brown grosgrain ribbon edges the inside of the hat. Glued to this ribbon is a woven tape label: "G. FOX & CO. / EST. 1847 HARTFORD"
