DescriptionWoman's cap of black, machine-made, bobbin-type lace over white lace of similar style, constructed with a wired headband-like headpiece. Lappets of the lace basted onto pale lavender grosgrain ribbons hang approximately eighteen inches from the headpiece. The lavender ribbon is stitched in decorative loops onto the headpiece; two-inch-wide and 1 1/8-inch-wide tan silk and narrow black velvet ribbons are also stitched in loops and bows on the headpiece, the wider ribbon trailing for twelve inches in the center back. An elastic band holds the cap on the head by fitting under the large chignon hairstyle.
