DescriptionWoman's blouse of tan-colored cotton net embroidered with small circles. The blouse has a standing band collar which is wired. Two triangles of machine-made chemical lace extend from the sides of the collar; these are also wired. The center front opening fastens with metal snaps. A gathered ruffle creating a jabot effect is stitched for about eleven inches down each side of the opening. The collar fastens with a pair of loops and small diamond-shaped mother of pearl buttons; the ends of the thread loops are anchored by matching buttons. The base of the collar and top of the jabot are decorated with a grouping of pale lavender silk ribbon rosettes on loops of braid made of gold-tone wire twisted with ribbon. The blouse is gathered across the front and back onto a narrow strip of self-fabric stitched around the inside of the waistline. The front panels are also gathered into the shoulderline seam. The long sleeves are stitched smoothly into the armscye and are gathered into 3 1/2-inch-wide cuffs edged with the chemical-lace-on-net ruffle. The cuffs fasten with three of the diamond-shaped buttons and thread loops. The blouse is unlined.
