DescriptionMan's shirt of white cotton, with a narrow turn-down collar and box-pleated plastron front. The center front opening extends the length of the plastron, fifteen inches, and fastens with a single mother of pearl button at the neckband; two sets of opposing buttonholes would accommodate studs. The sleeves are eased into the shoulder and are gathered into the 2 3/4-inch-wide cuffs, each of which fasten with a single mother of pearl button. The front and back panels of the shirt curve up at the side seams, which are open from the bottom for about eleven inches. The top of the seam opening is reinforced with a gusset. The body of the shirt tapers slightly at the waist.
