DescriptionMan's shirt of cream-colored silk, with a 2 1/2-inch-wide turn-down collar and center front placket opening extending 12 1/2 inches. The placket fastens with three mismatched mother of pearl buttons. The collar stand has a tab extension with two mismatched mother of pearl buttons. The underside of the collar fastens to the shirt with hidden buttons. The long, straight sleeves have a three-inch-wide cuff at the wrist, worked with two buttonholes for accomodating a stud. Rather than using a placket in the sleeve above the cuff opening, the sleeve is slit for 3 1/4 inches and faced on the outside with a V-shaped reinforcement of self-fabric. The shirt has a small patch pocket over the left breast. The back of the shirt is gathered into the shoulder yoke. The front and back panels curve up at the side seams. The top of each side seam vent is gusseted.
