DescriptionMan's black silk satin vest, with a shawl collar. The center front opening fastens with six self-covered buttons. There is a slanted breast pocket on the proper left front, and a 5 1/8-inch-wide pocket on each side of the lower front. The backing fabric is dark brown, twill-woven, glazed cotton. The vest adjusts with a buckled self-fabric strap across the lower back. The vest lining is tan twill-woven, glazed cotton. The lower edges of the front panels are lined with dark brown leather. There is a breast pocket in the lining on the proper right side. The vest fronts are padded with wadding to create the fashionable silhouette. The lower center back of the vest is cut in a shallow, rounded notch.
