DescriptionFrame houses and leafless trees line the right side of a snow-covered street. Houses have louvered shutters and porches. One house has a flag pole above the door. A fire hydrant and a road sign are beside the road. An automobile is in the left background. A child, apparently wearing a snowsuit and a knit cap, is on a sled in the foreground. The trees cast shadows on the snow.
NotesDate Note: This print received an award at an exhibition of the Meriden Arts and Crafts Association in 1950, so it must have been executed prior to that date. (Finlay 2/24/2005)

Technique Note: The plate was not wiped clean before printing, leaving a film of ink on the sky, which prints gray, suggesting that the sun has set and it is beginning to grow dark. (Finlay 10/31/2002)
