DescriptionViews of stone railroad station and tracks. Building has Italianate features including round arched windows and doors, balconies, and square towers at the corners. Horse-drawn vehicles, utility poles, street lights, a leafless elm tree, and a sign that reads "[RAI]LROAD CROSSING" are in 2002.112.4. The dome of the Connecticut State Capitol is visible in the background of 2002.112.6, and a steam locomotive and railroad cars are on the tracks.
NotesSubject Note: The building depicted is Hartford's original Union Station, erected in 1849. It was replaced with an enlarged, redesigned station in 1889. The Connecticut State Capitol, which appears in the background of 2002.112.6, was completed in 1878.
