DescriptionPoliceman in uniform escorts a man in a top hat and a boy in an overcoat and bowler hat. The man, who is identified as "Morgan / G. Bulkeley" appears to wear a ceremonial apron. The boy is identified as "Houghton / Bulkeley." Other dignitaries walk behind them. Some men have beards or mustaches. One man uses a cane. One man wears a cocked hat and a sash. Policemen, some of them on horseback, hold back the crowds in the background. Crowds line both sides of the Bulkeley Bridge. Decorations include an American flag and vines on light poles.
NotesSubject Note: The Bulkeley Bridge opened to trolley traffic on December 8, 1907 and to the general public on December 21, 1907. The dedication of the bridge was the occasion of a three-day celebration on October 6,7, and 8, 1908.
