DescriptionParade float in the shape of a ship. A sign reads: "[Santa] Maria." Banners read: "Lodge Piave - Centerbrook / Fratella... - Deep River / Italian-American Society - Chester." Crowds of men and women line both sides of the street. Also visible are automobiles, utility poles, wires and street lamps.
NotesSubject Note: Hartford celebrated the 300th anniversary of the founding of Connecticut with a parade on October 12, 1935. It included 20,000 marchers, 105 floats, twelve large divisions, thirty bands, over 500 separate organizations and twenty national groups. It was watched by 400,000 people and took three hours to pass by.
