DescriptionInfant's long white dress, constructed with a yoke across the front and back. The yoke is made of alternating vertical bands of ruched self-fabric and narrow tucks. The neckline is high and round, and is edged with bobbin lace. The bottom edge of the yoke is also trimmed in bobbin lace. The dress skirt is gathered into the yoke. Extending the length of the center front of the skirt is a strip of self-fabric ruching which gets gradually wider towards the bottom, flanked by one-inch-wide bands of eyelet embroidery. The bottom of the skirt has seven rows of narrow tucking above the 1 5/8-inch-wide hem. The hem is edged with flat eyelet embroidery in a scalloped pattern. The center back opening is nine inches long and fastens with two mother of pearl buttons on the yoke. The sleeves are cut with an upper and lower seam like a coat sleeve. They are set smoothly into the armscye and are trimmed around the wrist opening with three rows of narrow tucks and bobbin lace edging.
