DescriptionYoung men seated at school desks in a classroom. All of the men wear suits, some have very visible celluloid collars. One older man has a mustache. Text books are piled on a table at the front of the room. Some students have books on their desks. A wicker wastebasket is under the table. A map of the United States is on the wall. Electric light bulbs with shades hang from the paneled ceiling on wires.
NotesSubject Note: The Hillyer Institute was the Educational Department of the Hartford YMCA. The YMCA was located at 315-323 Pearl Street, at the corner of Jewell Street.
