DescriptionBoys wearing knickers are seated at desks, reading and writing. Books are piled on each student's desk. A man, probably the teacher, stands beside one desk. Three oil paintings in ornate frames hang from a molding on wires. A chandelier at the left side of the room holds both electric light bulbs and candles.
