DescriptionView of Norwalk from the Norwalk River. The elevation on the right is Grummon's Hill. The building before which a flagpole is standing is the old town house. To its right are the spires of the Congregational and Episcopal Churches. The waterfront to the left is lined with commercial buildings. Two large sailing vessels are at the left. Two smaller boats are at the right. The figure of a man sketching in the right foreground is probably a self-portrait. It is not included in the wood engraving as executed.
