DescriptionComplex of industrial buildings seen from an elevated viewpoint. Buildings have smokestacks, metal chimneys, stair towers, exterior staircases, and skylights. Some have domes, cupolas, dormers, and iron roof cresting. An iron fence surrounds the complex and lines a road leading to a two-span iron bridge across the Yantic River. Water flows over a mill dam at the left. A trolley runs on tracks in the road in the foreground, and a railroad freight train with box cars and a coal car runs on tracks along the river. Trees grow on the grassy lawn in the foreground.
