DescriptionAlbum containing 85 albumen prints of Wesleyan University faculty, staff, students, and buildings. Includes studio portrait photographs of Joseph Cummings, the President of the University; Professors John M. Van Vleck, James C. Van Buscholter [?], Calvin S. Harrington, Ralph G. Hibbard, George Prentice, William N. Rice, Caleb T. Winchester, Wilbur O. Atwater; Curator of the Museum, George Brown Goode; Tutor in Latin, Darius Baker; Tutor in Mathematics, Edgar M. Smith; Janitor, Harlow Raymond; Coal Carrier, Thomas Robinson; and students, most of them unidentified. Some men have beards or sideburns. Some wear eyeglasses. Other photographs show academic buildings, including North College, South College, and the Memorial Chapel, and the Wesleyan crew team in a shell on the Connecticut River with two sailing vessels, the railroad bridge, and a factory with a smokestack in the background.
