DescriptionGroup portraits of Wesleyan University students and views of the ruin of North College following the fire of 6 March 1906. Students are in a studio interior and on the steps of an ivy-covered academic building. One group of students has a banner that reads: "PHILO". Another group is in costume, including women's dresses and hats, apparently for a theatrical performance. One student in this group is dressed in a maid's uniform, apron, and cap. Some students hold tennis rackets. Seven small boys appear to be Boy Scouts; one boy holds a trumpet. Photographs of the North College fire include leafless elm trees.
