DescriptionMan's dark leather open-tab work shoe, with an oval toe. The sole is straight-lasted and pegged; the heel is stacked leather in four layers. The tabs have two pairs of eyelets for lacing. The shoe was stored in very unfavorable conditions, such that it is extremely stiff and dry; the layers of the sole have separated, allowing one to see the construction of the shoe quite clearly. There are two leather inner soles. The shoe was very well worn before it was thrown away: the leather sole and heel are worn down so that the separate layers are visible. The sole is straight, but the pattern of wear indicates that the shoe was worn on the left foot.
