DescriptionCommercial buildings line Church Street, near Main Street in Hartford, Connecticut. A five-story brick building at 40 Church Street appears in the center. The first floor of the building houses two stores: "E.M. WEBB CO. SHOE REPAIRING" and "Kaufman's Ladies Coats Suits". A sign in the first space to the east of those shops reads, "FORCED SALE / FORCED TO VACATE". "McCLUNIE'S" is shown farther west; a four-story brick building housing the "OK HOTEL" appears farther east. "SCUMAN'S OK LUNCH AND RESTAURANT" occupies the first floor of the building.
