DescriptionUnframed, oval, half-length miniature portrait of an older woman with blue eyes and brown hair. She is wearing a white cap with a ribbon and lace, a white shawl, and a black dress.
Label TextUnidentified woman from late eighteenth Century, attributed to William Verstille. William Verstille was a painter from Wethersfield, Connecticut, who painted portraits of many Connecticut residents and was actively involved in portraiture and jewelry-making in other major cities such as in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York.
