DescriptionHat (.a): Black silk plush top hat with a brim that curves up on the sides and a crown that flares out slightly at the top. The hat is lined with green wool under the brim. Inside, there is a brown leather sweatband, and the crown is lined with cream silk moiré. It is interlined with shellacked muslin to make it stiff. The retailer's label is printed inside the top of the crown.
Hat Box (.b and .c): An oval-shaped black cardboard box with the lid edged in gold. The manufacturer's label is printed in gold in the center of the box lid. A black plastic strap attached to each side of the box fastens with a gold-tone metal buckle across the lid.
