NotesSubject Note: The number twenty-six on this man's cap probably indicates that he was a member of the Twenty-Sixth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry. (Ruocco 5/10/2012)

Date Note: The Twenty-Sixth Connecticut Volunteer Infantry was organized in August 1862. They mustered out in September 1863 after taking part in the siege of Port Hudson from May to July 1863. (Finlay 5/11/2012)
