DescriptionHeathered gray silk quilted petticoat. The lower 11 1/2 inches of the petticoat are quilted in an overall diamond grid pattern. Above this, it is quilted in parallel diagonal lines. Two horizontal tucks encircle the petticoat at about knee height. The petticoat skirt is pleated into a waist yoke, which is about three inches wide. It closes at center back with two white ceramic buttons. The lining is pink glazed cotton, and the batting is white cotton. The bottom edge is turned up in a narrow hem and edged with white wool tape. The quilting is done with heavy black thread at 7 to 8 stitches per inch.
