DescriptionPale aqua silk quilted petticoat, lined with cream-colored, plain-woven, glazed worsted (tammy). The quilted design is of stylized, geometrically designed flowers positioned over swags. Three chevron rows of quilting appear above the bottom edge. Above the flowers, the petticoat is quilted in chevron swags. The quilting is done with aqua silk thread at nine inches per stitch. The wadding is white wool. The petticoat is pleated along the top edge at center front and center back; it is gathered on a drawstring at the sides. The drawstrings tie over each hip, above a bound opening in each side seam which allows access to the (separate) pocket. Some of the original linen tape has been replaced with cotton tape.
