DescriptionWhite cotton petticoat which is quilted in the lower half with a floral vine and diagonal parallel lines. The quilting extends upward in a 7 1/2-inch-deep sawtooth border. Areas that are not quilted have no batting or lining. In the quilted area, the lining is also plain white cotton, and the batting is cotton; on on one side of the petticoat, the batting appears to be colored. The bottom edge is quilted tightly over three rows of cording. The petticoat skirt is finely gathered into the waistband, which closes with two shell buttons. The quilting is done with white cotton threads at about eight stitches per inch.
