DescriptionSalmon pink silk quilted petticoat. The lower 16 1/2 inches of the petticoat is quilted in a 3 5/8" diamond grid, filled with stylized floral and geometric motifs. Above this, the petticoat is quilted in a 5/8-inch diamond grid. The quilting is done in a dark pinkish red silk thread at twelve stitches to the inch. The backing fabric is cream-colored, plain-woven, glazed worsted ("tammy"). The batting is a thin layer of undyed wool. The pocket slits are incorporated into the side seams, the inside edges lined with silk tape.
