DescriptionSeven men, some wearing work clothes, some wearing suits and hats, stand in the middle of a paved street, near trolley tracks. Most men appear to be African American. Most hold pick axes. The men at the left are blurred from movement. The man at the right appears to wear a uniform. Commercial buildings and utility poles line the street. Most buildings have awnings and shop windows. One building has a mansard roof. Signs read: "[LI]NUS T. FENN 205" "LINUS T. FENN - FURNITURE - 204" "ROBBINS & WINSHIP" "COLEMAN & KENNELLY / DRUGGISTS" DRUGS & MEDICINES" "CITY HOTEL". A fire hydrant is on the paved sidewalk in the left background.
NotesSubject Note: Linus T. Fenn's furniture business was at 203 and 205 Main Street. The City Hotel was at 217 Main Street. William H. Coleman and James A. Kennelly, Jr., druggists, were located at 207 Main Street.
