DescriptionBrick commerical buildings line a city street. The central building has a heavy overhanging cornice with brackets, windows with louvered shutters, and shop windows with striped awnings at street level. Some windows are broken. Debris and rubble, including a door frame, are on the paved sidewalk. Signs read: "HANSEL SLOAN & CO. / WATCHES AND DIAMONDS" "HANSEL SLOAN & CO." "884 CITY LOAN CO. 884" "J. SAMUELS & CO." "H. GILLESPIE / MANUFACTURER / OF / ALL SORTS OF / JEWELRY / DIAMOND / SETTING / A SPECIALTY." "J. SAMUELS & CO. / FINE SHOES". The building at the left has the date "1875" in its gable. Signs read: "S.L.P HGALL" "892 / AETNA / POOL / PARLOR / POOL 2 1/2 CTS. / A CUE." "POOL AND BILLIARDS" "DIAMONDS AND WATCHES" "892 HENRY KOHN & SONS 892". A sign on the building at the right reads: "Real Estate".
