Description(.a) Canteen, metal with screw on lid, attached with a chain. Body rounded with concave area on one side to fit into the holder/plate used for eating in the field.
(.b) Canteen holder or mess can. Kidney shaped deep "cup" used for eating. The canteen fits into this for storage and carrying.
(.c) Carrying case, canvas, with tab at back, probably for attaching to a belt. Ears project from back, over the shoulder of canteen to snap in front, holding everything in place. Olive drab color canvas, metal snap, lined with a flannel-like cloth.
