DescriptionDistant view of Hartford waterfront from Connecticut River, looking north from the vicinity of Dutch Point. Covered bridge at right. Frame buildings along shore, probably warehouses, and industrial buildings. Several sailing vessels along shore. Steamboat, probably the City of Hartford, is at the steamboat dock. Immediately to the left tall structures are sheer legs, used for hoisting heavy cargo, near the site of Woodruff & Beach Iron Works.

NotesHistorical Note: This photograph was sent to Morgan Brainard by Fred Dayton. That letter is in the object file. Mr. Dayton was requesting another view of Hartford, and sent this photograph to Morgan Brainard to show him what he already had.
