DescriptionTwo-piece woman's bicycling outfit, consisting of a coarse, plain-woven, undyed linen jacket and matching bloomer-like pants. The jacket is short, reaching only to about the natural waistline. The lower edge is cut with two short, rounded extensions on either side of the center front. It has a wide collar spreading from the high V-shaped neckline. One button just below the collar closes the front, which is cut to slope away, exposing the shirt beneath. The button appears to be vegetable ivory (tagua nut), dyed brown. The sleeves of the jacket are slightly puffed at the top of the shoulder, tapering to a smooth, tight wrist; the sleeves are cut with two seams so that they curve slightly. The bodice front is fitted with two long darts on either side of the rounded waist extensions. The jacket body is cut with seven seams (a center back seam, four side back seams curving from the armscye to the waist, and two side seams) to create a smooth, close fit. The jacket is unlined, but the center front and bottom edges have a 4 1/4-inch facing of the same linen.

The pants are cut very full and gathered into a waistband, which buttons on both sides above 9 1/2-inch open plackets. The leg openings are gathered over elastic (now disintegrated).
